:rolleyes:Here is news from my e mail friend which is pasted here for information.

The DMk government has decided to finish off the VIVEKANANDAR ILLAM in
madras. To destroy the great monument the DMK is hiding behind
Tamil.Earlier the DMK tried to beliittle the greatness and one ness of
VIVEKANADAR ROCK IN KANYAKUMARI BY PUTTING UP A STATUE FOR THE GREAT
TAMIL POET.nO dmk cadre is following the teachings of Thiruvalluvar. To
belittle mahatma gandhi the dmk lifted prohibition on OCT 2 nd 1971.you
must remember mahatama was dead against liquor. The dmk again tried and
succeeded in belittiling the statue of mahatama in marina by putting up
a statue for actor sivaji ganeasan in front of mahatma's statue. you
know the younger tamil generation is mad after cine actors.SO I REQUEST
ALL THE PATRIOTIC AND PROUD INDIANS TO UNITE AND SAVE THE VIVIKANANDAR
ILLAM.WE MUST PUT AN END THE SINISTER DESIGNS OF THE DMAK. REGARDS
JEBAMANI MOHNARAJ CHENNAI

Karunanidhi denies plans to evict Ramakrishna Mission 0 Comments

Chennai, April 24 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi denied the charge of the opposition that the state government is contemplating a move to evict the Ramakrishna Mission from the seafront Vivekananda House to build a Tamil research centre.

Chennai, April 24 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi denied the charge of the opposition that the state government is contemplating a move to evict the Ramakrishna Mission from the seafront Vivekananda House to build a Tamil research centre.

'My government has praised the heroic deeds of (Swami) Vivekananda repeatedly in the past and several buildings named after him have been inaugurated during our past tenures,' Karunanidhi told the state legislative assembly, intervening during a call attention motion.

'The opposition charges are baseless. The research centre for Tamil will be built in Sholinganallur on the Rajiv Gandhi Road (in the southern suburbs of Chennai). Till its completion, the centre will function from a government building Rajaji Salai (on the seafront),' the chief minister clarified.

The opposition had assailed the DMK regime Wednesday for allegedly issuing threats to evict the Ramakrishna Mission from Vivekananda House. Reports earlier suggested a move by the government to house a centre for research on the classical Tamil language in its place.
