State parties

Parties that have received certain amount of votes or seats in a state might be recognized as a state party by the Election Commission. Recognition as a state party given the party the possibilty to reserve a particular election symbol in the concerned state. A party might be recognized in more than one state. A party recognized in four states is automatically recognized as a national party. There is certainly there is importance of regional parties but the importance has so hyped that the said parties think their state above the nation. Look to Tamil Nadu where thee is always regional spirit and people talk about the region and don't think about the nation. All the regional parties think in the same manner. People have also no broad perspective to look in the aspect. They have become self centered and self seeking that they think= of their own interests only and not as a whole nation. People should think in rational and logical manner and see that regionalism is not developed.

I have few suggestions for election reforms . i would like to write separately under different head.

:rolleyes:It is only one political party in India in which there are so many aspirants for the post of Prime Minister. It may be Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Yashavant Sinha, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jetely or President of BJP Raj Nath Singh or any leader from UP who can well dream for the post and for that they can fight and play game of push and pull. BJP was a party with difference and during 25 years it has made sizable progress and has become a party with differences. This character of the party will be seen all over India. If BJP comes to power it will not be easy for the party to hold firmly the reins of the government .Many leaders will have to be appointed as Governors or Ambassadors or High Commissioners or Chairmen of different boards and commissions. This is the only way by which BJP can make a place too hot to hold these persons.

In this respect example of Indore Municipal Corporation will be sufficient to understand the situation. One can evaluate the position of BJP very well.

There is news that the Mayor of Indore, Yuma Shashi

Sharma has won the tussle between rival groups of BJP.

She might have proved to be Khali of Indore BJP

organization but the real fight would be after a month or

two when alms of MLA tickets will be distributed to so

many aspirants who in fact do not deserve to have it.

Thereafter these without ticket fellow travelers of BJP will

start hostile attitude saying that there is no internal

Democracy and only few are favored. Every one wants

Ticket. The other parties will have their doors open for

Such hostile people.

These hostile people should remember few facts. Firstly the

Ruling party has generally adverse incumbency factor therefore those who will leave party and join some other party will have no chance to win. The burning example is that of Gujarat. Secondly the stature of a person or candidate is because of a party and not vice versa. It is a great mistake to understand and assume that a person is big than a party. It was this misunderstanding that Uma Bharati got sever set back in the party and after forming a new party she could not gain any ground any where. The lion may loose teeth not roar. And the fact is that in democracy no one is afraid by roar or wolf’s temper. This is the reason Yuma has not come back to normal. Her party fellowmen are also leaving her with this expectation that they may get tickets. BJP should be alert with these Aaya Ram - Gaya Rams. Giving tickets to such persons will bring party near to defeat. The latest example is that of Saver. . Again tickets should not be given to any minister present or past, chairmen or presidents of any corporation Enigma or board or trust etc. and persons who have lost in the previous election. Those MLAs should also not be given tickets that have completed two terms in Vidhan Sabha. No further chance is required and let others be given opportunity. Not a single corporater of Municipal Corporation Indore should also be given ticket, as they are the persons who have spoiled the image of party. If BJP wants to come in power it has golden opportunity to avail but it should be very firm in allotting tickets. It is also a fact that few people may play Mundey factor to pressurise the State unit of BJP.

And the comet: Reshuffling of ministry at this juncture will be fatal to BJP.

:rolleyes:What is BJP in MP is same all over India. Rajnathsing is the most failure Party President ever seen. The Gropius and interflight is just a part of the party agenda. Look to MP from following point of view.:-

A state’s reputation is earned or lost by its Finance, Home and PWD departments. The energy and water departments may do better but their performance depends on the availability of natural resources and co-operation of the Union Government.
As the face is mirror of mind theses three departments are the indicators of the performance of the state. When the BJP took the reins of the state of MP from the Dig Vijay Singh govt. the financial position was not better than that of an insolvent and bankrupt person. However since 2003 the state Finance Minister Raghavjee made the state a sound state and his efforts in this respect should be commended and deserves appreciation. He is the person though holding most important portfolio but is very introvert and does not come into picture at all. Really he is silent worker and most of the people do not know any thing about him. It is his greatness.

The other departments are Home and PWD departments. People have their own reactions and the important thing is every one has the same reaction about these two departments. The Ministers of these two departments are most powerful persons in the party and they along with few others control the party and therefore the CM feels helpless to mend these two departments. The CM is not able to shift these two persons to other departments. Though they are powerful in party but this does not mean that they have made party powerful in the state. On the contrary the party has become weak because of such persons. It also appears that the CM has succumbed to the power and control of such persons in party and the government. The result is quite apparent and the party will get a large set back in the next coming elections. The party’s chariot cannot run on the road of inflation in the nation, as it is a universal phenomenon. After elections the party will sit to review the causes of its failure in the elections and will speak something baseless. Prevention is better than cure. That king is always successful who gives heed to the voice and views of the general public. If he is utterly heedless his dethroning is guaranteed. Dawns only to those who are awake! Jago Mohan Pyare! Alarm bells have started to ring. Quick action is required.

: With curtsay from Central Chronical. Do read. worth article.

Party with difference?
Three incidents of last few days define the chaal, charitra and chehra of the "party with difference". Putting off the decision of reducing tax on petroleum products defines the chaal. IT raids on health departments officials and subsequent resignation of health minister defines the charitra. Ruckus created at the house of a police officer by the son of newly appointed home minister is the chehra.
While other states reduced the state tax on petroleum products quickly, MP government is still dithering on it even in an election year. This type of decision making is the hallmark of the BJP rule of 5 years. This decision making, or rather lack of it, can be seen in the development of the state. Government never thought twice in announcing any popular scheme that doesn't need any planning, vision or foresight. But when it comes to the planned development or any policy decision, this government always found lacking in the vision. Whatever development is being claimed by the BJP, it is by normal bureaucratic process. Government cannot claim any path breaking policy or the project on the development front. Due to this lack of vision in the political leadership, lot of central fund is lying unused and unclaimed. This way of decision making defines the chaal of the BJP government.

Recent IT raids were the last straw on the back proverbial camel of corruption. In the past too from time to time allegations have been made against not only ministers but against chief minister too. Some of these allegations can be politically motivated but one need not to investigate deeper to find the level of corruption. One can gauge it merely by looking at the changes in the lifestyle of party office-bearers and RSS functionaries. The same party organization people, who used to move on a moped or on a two-wheeler just 5 years back, are moving around in swanky SUVs and luxury cars today. Their kith and kin, who earlier were good for nothing, are earning crores through various business activities. The RSS prachaarak, who earlier used to travel in the ordinary class in the train, is now travelling in AC class. Source of corruption for a minister is understandable but how these people are able to afford such a drastic change in lifestyle? This defines the charitra of the BJP and its government.

As soon as the government appointed a new state home minister in recent reshuffle, minister's son came in the headlines but for all wrong reasons. News came that he led an assault on the house of local police official when official refused to entertain the request of 10 vehicles for celebration procession of his father. This is not the only incident of assault by BJP workers on government employees. In last 5 years there have been around two dozen such incidents.

So called disciplined party, however, has always maintained a silence on such incidents. This is the same party that used to accuse youth congress for the hooliganism in the politics. This is the chehra of the BJP and its government.

The reason behind these phenomena is very simple; these people don't know how to govern. They don't have any administrative skills. They are high on rhetoric but very low on delivery. It is not that Congress government was not corrupt. In fact they could be more corrupt then these people as they knew all the tricks of the governance. But they never claimed to be milky white honest as these people claim. Common man was never unhappy with the behavior of Congressman as his work was never stopped. A Congressman knows how the system works and how to get the work done from bureaucracy. That's why he never assaulted any government servant for his work. Congress leaders always shared the benefits of power with their workers. But BJP leaders, in their zeal to put an honest public face, refuse to share the benefits of power with their workers. This creates a chain reaction among party workers. At one level they feel cheated after working so hard for the party victory. When ministers tell them that bureaucrats don't listen then they mishandle and antagonize the government servants. Finally when public asks questions about the change in life style of party people and ministers, party worker doesn't have any explanation.

Since Gujarat victory, BJP is talking a lot about Gujarat model. If it is sincerely interested in that model then it should understand that Gujarat model relies on a firm, decisive and visionary leadership. If the state BJP doesn't want to project any single individual as a Modi like leader in MP then it should have left like power structure. RSS family is a hydra headed body where every mouth speaks a different language and tries to derive maximum mileage from the power. If RSS wants to give a definite direction to its hydra headed creature, then like West Bengal, it should create a bridge between workers and the government whose recommendations are final and binding for the government. If this doesn't happen then BJP in MP can win only by the walk over given by Congress.

 Flag this message(( Proud2B_Indian )) Expulsion of Indian speaker from a Stalinist Party: Karat proved his insanity againThursday, 24 July, 2008 8:42 AM
From: "Dr Biplab Pal" <biplabpal2000@yahoo.com>Add sender to Contacts To: undisclosed-recipientsExpulsion of Indian speaker from a Stalinist Party: Karat proved his insanity againBiplab Pal 22/7/2008 Finally, the most obvious and unavoidable happened. Speaker of Indian Parliament Mr Somnath Chatterjee has been expelledfor following Indian constitution and denying CPM party constitution that demands near fanatic surrender of individual existence toparty supremo Prakash Karat. Such is the veracity of surrender, it will shame even monotheist faiths that demand total surrender of human being to God. Let rewind the rolls. Chatterjee is more veteran and seasoned CPM politicians than Karat, He also happened to be spokesperson for CPMin Indian parliament for four consecutive times. In his forty years of political career no scandal has touched him as he followed and carried himself with dignity and a persona admired by his friends and foes alike. From the very beginning of no confidence motion, he made it very clear that he has been elected as speaker by MPs of all the parties and by Indian Constitution, a speaker must carry himself above the party line maintaining the dignity and sanctity of Indian constitution. If Mr Chatterjee would have toed with Prakash Karat's party line of destroying India for his own identity crisis, he would have insulted Indian constitution that demands a perfect and pure neutrality from the Speaker.
For last three months, I have been very clear about one thing-Mr Karat knows very well this US-India nuclear deal can not be opposed on merits ofmaterial usefulness. He extended the opportunity of opposition to increase his presence in Indian politics and to strengthen his position in CPM. Basic principle of managerial psychology demands that a managers asserts and improves his authority by imposing unpopular decision among his subordinates.Prevailing against the will of followers is the true test of authority. CPM leaders in general from WB, were not opposed to more civilian nuclear power. But except for Subash Chakrabarty, not a single dissident couldopen their mind out fearing reprisal and expulsion from notorious Stalinist Karat gang in Delhi politburo. Stalinist principle of diluting dissidents is not possible in democracy and therefore, Karat made biggest mistake of his life time by expelling the most popular speaker from his party. Now with the loss in Parliament, CPM stands no where in Indian political map. No media will be asking his face any more because he made himself unwanted both by Congress and BJP. He lost his influence on Indian politics completely. Partying with Mayabati, who campaigned with Modi even after Gujrat riot, is a ludicrous political engineering by so called 'anti-communalist' Karat. CBI will unleash its investigation on Nandigram which was held back by center to avoid rift inside UPA. Young generation of Indians are now extremely disappointed to see face of leftist force which is nothing but a farcical existence to please a Stalinist supremo called Karat. Let me be very clear. We, the young Indians want power and not politics. Talking about American imperialism will not deter us to be convincedotherwise, because we don't chase ghosts but milk the cow called America. Our inspiration of better India is based on new opportunity to set up new business following American model of entrepreneurship. We may not support American foreign policy but we want more business relation with America to be rich and affluent. That is young India. Mr Karat, you recognize it or perish from Indian political landscape
